The Lost Gardens of Heligan
Less than 10 minutes drive from the Beach House the Lost Gardens of Heligan are amazing. Rediscovered in the early 1990's and fully restored they are a magical trip into Victorian horticultural splendour. Formal gardens, jungle pathways and much more to explore. It will take several days to cover everything so give yourselves at least a morning or afternoon to enjoy the space and beauty of Heligan. There are lots of food options including a sit down restaurant and take away at the entrance as well as refreshment and BBQ stalls in the grounds. The rhododendron lawn is amazing to see when in bloom (mid April) and the Burmese rope bridge in the jungle is good fun for the kids. There are usually kids activities on during the school holidays and plenty of parking. Really worth a trip to see.
